Warren Dunes State Park

I am surprised that Warren Dunes State Park has not been mentioned yet as a great place to go to the beach!

With about a million visitors a year, it is one of the popular beaches in Michigan. It is located in extreme southwest Michigan near the Sawyer-New Buffalo area.

There is a very large beautiful beach but the highlight (for kids at least) are the large dunes in the area. As a child I remember going there and running/tumbling down the 250 foot tall Tower Dune next to the beach.

Also near Warren Dunes is the beautiful St Joe area and, if you want to gamble, the Blue Chip Casino is just across the border in Michigan City Indiana.
