Torch Lake Michigan

Within thirty minutes to an hour from common destinations of Traverse City, Charlevoix, Gaylord and Petoskey, it is Michigan’s longest inland lake at 18 miles long, and covers an area of 29 square miles! One of the things that makes this lake so unusual is its’ amazingly beautiful color. It is a mixture of light green, blue and turquoise -- very similar to colors seen in the Caribbean.

It is great for boating, swimming, fishing or any other water sport that you can imagine.

If you are a fisherman, you will discover it is a fantastic fishing lake with rock bass, yellow perch, small mouth bass, lake trout, brown and rainbow trout and more.

If you are a nature lover, you will find this lake very enjoyable. Due to the low amount of boating traffic and low tolerance for partying, it is easy to enjoy the natural beauty of this unique Michigan lake without the typical beach scene you can find in some popular locations.

While there are several rental cottages and Bed and Breakfast spots to stay nearby, since it is so close to some nearby towns, it is a perfect place for a romantic getaway or a nice day trip for the whole family.
