Muskegon Insider TipsSubmitted by: Glenn from Muskegon, MIWant the best Muskegon insider restaurant tip? The Hearthstone Restaurant is a favorite of locals in Muskegon. Located at 3350 Glade Street. Back in 1975 the little bistro opened and we have been so glad to have a place to have fresh salads, homemade soups and sandwiches in a classy atmosphere. Muskegon, located on the shores of Lake Michigan, is also home to two state parks: Muskegon State Park and Hoffmaster State Park. These are great for outdoor recreation both in summer and winter if you are not one to hang out at the beach. However, be sure to visit Heritage Landing down at the pier and enjoy the shops as well as the history of the wharf if you aren't going to Muskegon for the beach. For a great amusement park, take the whole family to Michigan's Adventure located on Whitehall Road. There are huge roller coasters as well as kiddie rides for the little ones. And last, but not least, head over to Great Lakes Downs for some great horse racing.
