Grand Traverse Resort and Spa Our favorite destination is Grand Traverse Resort and Spa. It boasts 54 holes of championship golf including The Bear (designed by Jack Nicklaus) and The Wolverine (a Gary Player signature golf course) and a great golf school. However, when you are done golfing for the day you still can play on the indoor and outdoor tennis courts or at their fabulous health club with both indoor and outdoor swimming pools. Your kids can also enjoy the children's center and day camp. Then you can round it out with relaxing at their full-service spa, in the shopping gallery, or at one of their great restaurants choices. Mackinac Island This one wins top golf vacation status because it is just so fun to enjoy Michigan golfing on this unique island! Their 18 hole golf course at the Grand Hotel is open to the public and overlooks the Straits of Mackinac. Nine holes are located right next to the beautiful Mackinac Island Grand Hotel and the other nine holes are in the nearby woods.
