Looking at Michigan casinos for a gambling getaway?

There are twenty-three great casinos in Michigan. Twenty of those casinos are Indian Reservation Casinos and the other three are located in the Detroit area. Each casino is unique in its own way.

Here is a brief overview of each one including where it is located and what amenities each offers. It is important to remember that the minimum gambling age for the Indian Reservation Casinos is nineteen while the minimum age for the Detroit casinos is 21!

Motor City Casinos 1. Christmas Kewadin Casino: Operated by the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians and located in the town of Christmas. They are open every day from eight am to three am. They have slot machines and one restaurant on site.

2. Saganing Eagle’s Landing: Operated by the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe of Michigan and located in the town of Standish. They have slot machines and electronic table games. They are in the process of completing an onsite restaurant as well as a marina.

3. Ojibwa Casino: Operated by Keweenaw Bay Indian Community and is located in the town of Baraga. They offer free shuttle service for the areas of L’Anse and Baraga. They are open twenty-four hours every day. They have video and reel slots, Bingo (Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday), Texas Hold Em’ (Friday and Saturday only), and Table games open at noon daily. They have two suites, seventy-eight rooms, and 12 Recreational Vehicle sites.

4. Four Winds Casino: Operated by the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians and is located in the town of New Buffalo. They have Table games that include Black Jack, Craps, Three and Four Card Poker as well as slot machines. They also have six restaurants, five bars, and one hundred sixty-five luxury rooms. For the parents traveling with children, there is a Kidquest daycare or an adult supervised arcade.

5. FireKeepers Casino: The newest of the Michigan Casinos opening in Mid-2009 and will be operated by the Nottawaseppi Band of Huron Potawatomi in Battle Creek. They will have slot machines and table games. There will be five food and beverage facilities and there are future plans for a hotel.

6. Bay Mills Resort and Casino: Operated by the Bay Mills Indian Community and located in Brimley. They are open twenty-four hours every day. They have slot machines and table games. There are four restaurants and bars. Their hotel has standard rooms, suites, and suites with Jacuzzi tubs.

7. Kings Club Casino: Operated by the Bay Mills Tribe of Ojibwa Indians and located in Brimley. Open Sunday through Thursday, ten am to midnight. They offer slots and Bingo. There is one restaurant on site.

8. Sault Ste. Marie Kewadin Casino: Operated by the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians and located in Sault Ste. Marie. They are open twenty-four hours every day. They offer slots, table games and Bingo. They have facilities to host concerts. They have one lounge and one restaurant on site as well as a hotel.

9. Odawa Casino Resort: Operated by the Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians and located in Petoskey. They are open from eight am until four am daily. They offer slot machines and table games with daily Poker Tournaments. They have three restaurants on site as well as a Concert hall and hotel.

10. Turtle Creek Casino: Operated by the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa located in Williamsburg. They are open twenty-four hours every day. They offer only slots. They have two restaurants on site.

11. Lac Vieux Desert Casino: Operated by the Lac Vieux Desert Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians and is located in Watersmeet. They are open twenty-four hours every day. They offer slots, Bingo, and Keno. There is a Snack Bar and one restaurant on premises. The hotel is located nearby.

12. Saginaw Chippewa Bingo: Operated by the Saginaw Chippewa Band and located in Mt. Pleasant. They only offer Bingo.

13. Soaring Eagle Casino: One of the most pouplar Michigan casinos, they are operated by the Saginaw Chippewa Tribe and located in Mt. Pleasant. They are open twenty-four hours every day. They offer slots, Black Jack, Poker, Keno, Bingo, and a smoke free Poker room. They have facilities for concerts and special events. There are seven restaurants on site. The hotel is located nearby.

14. Leelanau Sands Casino: Operated by the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa located in Peshawbestown. They offer slots and Table games. They have facilities for concerts and special events. They have one restaurant and one bar on site.

15. Hessel Kewadin Casino: Operated by the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians and located in Hessel. They are open from ten am to midnight daily from November through May. The hours change in June. They offer slots. There is one restaurant on site.

16. St. Ignace Kewadin: Operated by the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians and located in St. Ignace. They are open twenty four hours every day. They offer slots and table games. They have Comedy night every Wednesday, and live entertainment every Friday and Saturday night. They have one restaurant, one lounge, and one bar on site as well as a hotel.

17. Little River Casino Resort: Operated by the Little River Band of Ottawa Indians and is located in Manistee. They are open twenty four hours every day. They offer slots and Table games. They are one of the Michigan casinos offering concert facilities, three restaurants and a hotel.

18. Marquette Ojibwa Casino: Operated by the Keweenaw Bay Indian Community and is located in Marquette. They are open twenty four hours every day. They offer slots and Table games.

19. Island Resort and Casino: Operated by the Hannahville Potawatomi Indian Community and is located in Harris. They are open twenty four hours every day. They offer slots and Table games. They have concert facilities, two restaurants, an ice cream shop, and a hotel on site.

20. Manistique Kewadin Casino: Operated by the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians and located in Manistique. They are open twenty four hours every day. They offer slots, Bingo, and Table games. There are two restaurants on site.

21. Greektown Kewadin Casino: Operated by the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians and located in Detroit. They are open twenty four hours every day. They offer slots and Table games. They have two restaurants and one lounge on site.

22. MGM Grand Detroit: Located in Detroit. They are one of the casinos in Michigan that is open twenty four hours every day. They offer slots, Table games, as well as a Poker room. They have six restaurants and a hotel on site.

23. MotorCity Casino: Located in Detroit. Originally opened in 1999 and was rebuilt in 2007 with a budget of $300 million. They are open twenty four hours every day. They offer slots and Table games, including a Poker room. They boast a rooftop restaurant, along with another restaurant, lounge, bar, and a luxury hotel.

No matter what part of Michigan you are planning to vacation, there is probably several Michigan casinos not too far from where you are traveling. So take some time, take some friends or family and go enjoy yourself.
