Hungarian Falls in Calumet, MI

by Mona
(Phoenix, AZ)

Hungarian Falls

Hungarian Falls

Hungarian Falls are a series of waterfalls between Lake Linden and Calumet, in the heart of the Copper Country.

You have to drive out on the dirt road near the Calumet Gold Course before parking and walking a half mile into the falls. There's a smaller initial waterfall with a big pond to swim in, with a big tree swing to jump into the water.

Farther down is the best waterfall, and you can walk down a steep slope to a small, deep pool located at the base of the waterfall. Its great for pictures or for swimming in the warm summer sun. At the top of one of the largest falls you have a gorgeous view of Torch Lake and Lake Linden spread beneath you.

Be careful though- this waterfall is extremely high! Hungarian Falls are the perfect destination for swimming, tanning, and having a picnic in Calumet, MI.

Great Waterfalls
by: Anonymous

The Hungarian waterfalls are very nice and provide a good workout as you walk to see each one. I tried climbing up the steep wall next to the big falls and almost killed myself. I recommend climbing down to the stream further down-stream where it is safer. If you go during a dry time, I had fun leaning over the edge of the waterfall while hanging on to a tree and taking a picture of the bottom. The Calumet Country Club is close by too if you like to golf.
