The best golf vacation is to stay at the Grand Hotel Resort on Mackinac Island and golf the Jewel. It is the nicest course and takes you golfing throughout the island. It is a great experience and I golf it pretty well.
To get from the front nine to the back nine, you take a specially designed horse-drawn carriage!

Did you know that 'The Grand Nine' (which is located just across the street from the Grand Hotel) was totally redesigned in 1987 by the golf course architect Jerry Matthews? He also helped to design and create the 'Woods Nine' in 1994 to complete this Mackinac Island course.
