Vacation Tips from a Traveler:

When you come to Drummond Island, Michigan you will have to stay at the Drummond Island Resort. It was built a few years ago as a company retreat place and now is open to the public. Located at 33494 Maxton Rd. stop in and have the staff show you some of the different rooms you can choose from.

The last time we stayed there, our room had a lodge feel to it and a loft upstairs.

But this isn't just a lodge. There is plenty to do to make this your favorite vacation destination. We were able to use the free bicycles and even got helmets for ourselves and kids. Our youngest got a bike just her size. There is also a playground with equipment you can use to play outdoor games, a heated outdoor pool and sauna, and tennis courts. We also could use the canoes and kayaks on the water. At the main lodge there's even a bowling alley.

For entertainment at night or during bad weather, the front desk the staff will let you borrow from their extensive video library. The only activities with an additional fee where the golf and clay skeet shooting ranges.

There are also great places available to eat on the island. We liked the Pins Grill because of the specialty pizzas.
