Belle Isle Park in Detroit Michigan

by A Clarke
(Ontario, Canada)

Belle Isle Park

Belle Isle Park

Belle Isle Park is the largest island park in the United States and offers a lot to see and do!

Belle Isle is home to The Detroit Yacht Club, a municipal golf course, and a conservatory.

The small island is a historical experience waiting to be discovered by young and old! There is a lot to be learned about this rich history by visiting the many monuments and land markers across the island’s 2.42 square miles.

For summer time fun, there is a section of beach available for picnicking, sunbathing, or swimming.

For year round fun the nation’s oldest conservatory, the Anna Scripps Witcomb Conservatory is open to the public free of charge. Take in the beauty of hundreds of types of plants and flowers – some of which date back to World War II.
