The town of Houghton Lake is located in Roscommon County. Although the town is only around 4000, we grow by several thousand during the summer months. The town is an "All American City.' For many visitors, it brings out images of Norman Rockwell and days gone by. There are several great bed and breakfasts in the area. Several serve lunch and dinner as well. One of the best is Houghton Inn. The caverns are a great sightseeing venture - and children love them. During the summer months, the 'beach' at Houghton Lake is a great place to find townsfolk. I also recommend getting a burger with slaw at 'Shirley's' on the Lake! But no visit would be complete without getting a snowcone and a bundle of cotton candy on the boardwalk. Have Fun!
